RENET
– Network for Renewable
Energy Research
For the Built Environment
and Technology Transfer
between the European Union
and India.
|
 |
‘RENET’
is a self-sustaining and non-profit
Network for Renewable Energy
Research for the Built Environment
and Technology Transfer with the
main purpose of creating and maintaining
a competitive EU and Indian industry.
The network is managed by the leading
higher educational institutes in
the European Union and India; RENET
project is co-funded by the EU -
India Economic Cross Cultural Programme.
Emphasis
is given to the information on institutional
research efforts on various renewable
energy technologies in the EU and
India. Such a database would be
of immense use in providing a much-needed
technology-bridge between institutional
research and industry. Numerous
research institutions and industrial
corporations are involved in the
design; development and research
related to Renewable Energy technologies
in India and the countries of the
European Union.

Objectives of the Renewable
Energy Network:
The
objectives of this network are as
under:
1.
Encouraging and developing links
between trade and industry, research
centers, universities, professionals,
decision-makers, and opinion formers.
2.
Promoting the exchange of know-how
between educational and entrepreneurial
networks.
3.
Facilitating the exchange of information,
joint research and the pooling of
experience between educational and
industrial sectors.
4.
Helping strengthen a two-way, dynamic,
cultural and economic presence in
the regions.
Management
of the Renewable Energy Network
The
network is managed by a Steering
Committee to decide on the direction
of, and opportunities for, research
collaboration, dissemination activities,
forward planning, network development
and achievements. The Steering Committee
comprises of the representatives
from the partner Institutes of the
network. The Steering Committee
meets periodically to discuss the
network's activities and progress.
Activities of the Renewable Energy
Network:
The
different renewable energy technologies
considered are:
1.
Biomass Energy
2. Solar Energy
3. Wind Energy
4. Hydro Energy
5. Ocean & Wave Energy
6. Hydrogen & Fuel Cells
7. Combined Heat & Power
8. Geo and Ground Source Heat Pump
The
activities involved include:
1.
Creating a database of research
institutions and industrial organizations
in India and the European Union
(EU), involved in Renewable Energy
research, development and implementation.
This database lists out the organizations,
the product/service offered, contact
address and the website address.
2.
The above database is periodically
updated as and when more information
is available
3. Constantly updating information
related to renewable energy technologies
