Aims and Objectives:

1. The Academy will be a voluntary, non-profit society, which will work for the welfare and development of the people living in the Hills and Mountainous regions through value based ancient, traditional and modem systems, approaches, and techniques.

2. The Academy shall keep up & build up the dignity and integrity of HUMAN BEINGS, irrespective of colour, caste, creed, community, gender, religion, region, nationality etc.

3. The Academy shall endeavour to preserve and further enrich the rich cultural heritage through ancient, indigenous, traditional and modem knowledge and know how.

4. The Academy shall work through any appropriate mode in all fields of Hill & Mountain Development Sciences, which include the Applied Sciences & Technologies, Social Sciences, Training, Information-Communications, Education, Extension.

5. The Academy shall work on all areas of Natural and Life Sciences, and related aspects of Sustainable Human and Area Development in Hill & Mountain regions. The Academy shall work in the areas of educating people in harnessing and production of resources, economic and social development in fulfillment of basic needs of the Human beings. ‘For Example, shelter (habitat), safe and clear air, water, sanitation, hygiene, food & nutrition, health (Including Prevention and Control of Diseases), poverty alleviation, clean environment and sustainable eco-systems etc.

6. The Academy will also work in the areas of clean, efficient, transparent governance, e- governance, natural justice, human and civil rights and oneness of consumer rights, social & economic security, peace, disarmament and equality. Thereby, following the path of advocacy, policy planning, systems- approach, modeling, planning and execution, research & development, information communication, education, training, extension etc to achieve effective interaction with people for Sustainable De velopment of the Hill & Mountain Regions.

7. The Academy will set up associated units, sub-units, groups, clubs, bodies, institutes, institutions, organizations, ashrams, schools etc and work together with, collaborate with other affinity individuals, groups, institutes, organizations, agencies etc, in all areas and fields associated with Hill & Mountain Development.

8. The Academy will provide consultancy and render all sort services in any or all fields related to Hill & Mountain Development Sciences to the individuals, other organizations, institutions etc. in and outside India.

9. The Academy will venture into any type of developmental activity or activities in its endeavour to fulfill Aims and Objectives.

10 The academy shall raise funds in shape of enrolment membership fees, loans, grants, help, assistance, donations, funding etc. from inland (India & Indian States) and foreign/ distant lands from individuals (NRIs, Foreigners Etc.), institutions, organisations, governments, agencies etc. of any legitimate kind for its operations.

11. The Academy shall acquire, buy or sell movable/ immovable property/ properties, assets etc for achieving its aims & objectives. Such movable/ immovable property/ properties, assets etc shall vest in the Academy.
