This detailed essay is based on facts. Facts as I preceive them
to be. It is my honest attempt to try and rationalize it
all.

Try
to make sense of it all, in spite
of the almost unendurable aura
of helplessness and sadness,
that drifts forlornly across
most statements. My
philosophy, in essence, is the
concept that humans are no longer
a heroic being, and persual of
his/her own happiness and self-gratification
is the only focal purpose of
life.
I am a man who is in denial perhaps, according to society PAGE 3. Yet,
no matter how moved, influenced or enthralled I am seeing experiences
unfold around me, I am not prepared to accept what circumstances, upbringing,
society and the media have been engraving on my psyche while growing
up.
"Death has
been ruefully announced,
and to die without knowing the answers,
is death enough...
be sure for any lifetime."
Rohit. 2004.
The only reason trust exists, is so that it can be betrayed and broken.
Love is blind, and therefore leads to mistakes and pain. Time doesn’t
heal all wounds; it just helps deaden you to the pain. Friends are just
people you don’t think will take advantage of the vulnerability you’ve
shown them. Pain makes us grow if we live through it. Love doesn’t. People
are inherently evil. 99% of humanity is the bipedal equivalent of sheep.
These may all seem really dark and unoptimistic, but if you take a few
minutes and look at the world we live in, with all it’s failings, injustices
and cruelties, perhaps you might see where I’m coming from.
The world today is a lost cause. Perhaps its already too late. maybe
not. I am sure that even today, there are others like me... men of unborrowed
vision, who live by the judgment of their own minds and are willing to
stand alone against tradition and popular opinion. Men. who reject the
ethics of social norms, renunciation and self-sacrifice and live by the
codes of free individuals: being self-reliance, being rational, and having
integrity. We are those, the different... We are those, that see reality
in a different way. Our point of view shows more than ordinary people
can see. They see only what is outside, but we see what is inside. That's
what we are - realists with the rose tinted glasses of dreamers.
We are those strange people, almost unknown to the neighborhood. People,
indulged in their own thoughts, sitting day after day before the computer,
ransacking the net for something. We are often not out of home, just
from time to time, only to go to the nearby pub, or to the usual bar
to meet some of the few friends we have, or to meet a client, or to the
back street druggist... or just for a little walk or occasionally play
Basketball in the S Block park.
We do not have many friends, only a few with whom we go to parties. Everybody
else we know, we know on the net. Our real friends are there, on the
other side of the line. We know them from our ICQ list, from the msn
contact list, from the systems we hang-around. We are those who don't
give a second thought about what people think about us, we don't care
what we look like or what people talk about us in our absence. The majority
of us likes to live in hiding, being unknown to everybody except those
few we must inevitably keep contact with.
Society does not understand us, we are "weird" and "crazy" people
in the eyes of the ordinary people who live far from information and
free ideas. Society denies our way of thinking - a society, living, thinking
and breathing in one and only one way - a cliche. They deny us, for we
think like free people, and free thinking is forbidden.
We may be different, yet we continue to survive, perhaps living a life
of double standards and morality, acting innocent and hiding behind facades,
but are willing to survive and fight. We believe in the human value system,
the freedom of life, freedom of press, freedom of expression, love thy
neighbour, be there for thy neighbour and fellow human beings, together
try to make a difference, for we believe, its still time. Every human
has a price tag. So do we. Everyone is willing to bend for money or some
gratification. So do we. The need may be different, but the aim is more
of less the same. Survival.
Yet, we survive, not at the expense of our fellow human beings. We barter
our expertise for their offerings. We do not manipulate, we exchange
fairly. We do not hurt, hate, steal or loathe. We just try to survive
by not stepping on others toes and expect the same. We live life at our
terms and morality and not on doctored and prevalent ideals. Combined,
we all think we can make a difference. Make a better Earth. There is
plenty for everyone, if only we can all co-exist. We all are bound by
one common oath. Money corrupts. So each of us has definded his/her own
upper income slab. How much we need to survive with dignity, honour and
have enough to pull through the next month. Sure its tough. What isn't
these days!
"Oh,
my poor weeping heart
what good is desire
when life itself is tranquil
and time its deception.
Silent is all ambience
the zephyr blows no more
what good is life my love
when you're here no more."
Rohit. 2004.
I am trying to look into something deeper than flashbacks of memory and
experiences. I am trying to draw from the depths of my being, the emotions
I have encountered growing up. The deep sense of wrong I have been feeling
off late, has made me want to project the certain knowledge of the rightness
of what I am doing now. I hope this feeling would communicate itself
to all those who, however reluctantly and unwittingly, I have come to
represent. I have been penning this essay since ages. Today it is coming
to its destined conclusion and being uploaded on a global platform for
review, criticism and perhaps acceptance. The birth of a new style of
philosophy. The Mehta Chronicles...! :)
Money
seeking is the most desired condition
in the world. People seek it
all their lives but seldom get
enough of it. It is a commodity
for which people have an unsatisfiable
appetite. The more they get,
the more they want. It creates
feelings of the most intense
desire, such that, with it's
first encounter, people remember
it forever. Yet lack of it can
also be one of the most painful
and excruciating emotions. Money
is on the minds of the masses
to such an extent, that probably
no other subject has been quoted
in so much song and prose.
Lack
of money or money disorder on
the other hand, is a very painful
or exhilarating condition similar
to manic-depressive psychosis.
It has the same capability as
a psychosis of making you feel
as though you were flying on
wings of song, or sitting in
a dungeon. People in such a condition
suffer in unique ways, but they
suffer intensely. Money is today
the epitome of human culture,
existence and survival, synonymous
with, relationships, happiness,
sadness, groupism, wars, peace,
stress, disease, love thy neighbour,
hate thy neighbour, escapism,
cults, followerism, agony, ecstacy.
It makes us humans worship, love
and hate and affects our morality,
value system and belief. Makes
men, strive, slave, and become
slaves and women bare their soul
as well as their breasts. Every
human has a price tag. Everyone
is willing to bend for money
or some gratification. The need
may be different, but the aim
is more of less the same. It
is as though these terms, MONEY
and HUMANITY are inseparable.
" Its
all about the money
its all about the dum dum dadidum dum"
Getting
to the bottom of the
problem, just why do
you have to possess
money? Since when does
having money, make
you a worthwhile human
being? Weren't you
worthwhile enough before
you had money? Will
you let other people
pass judgement on you
(through their money)
to say that you are
worthwhile or not?
Well, is the persual
of money really CRITICAL
in your life or rather
DESIRABLE ? Isn't without
money, inconvenient,
regretable and sad?
Ofcourse it is! But
is it also horrible,
tragic and the end
of the world? Ridiculous!
I tell people that
if it is, then prove
it!
However
do not be misled by my last statement.
I am in no way against the concept
of making money. I believe that
it is a positively wonderful
experience, and urge all men
and women to work hard towerds
achieving it. Life is so much
nicer when we have the means
at our disposal to buy and trade.
The point in contention is that
one should know where to draw
the line. Money is a paradox...how
much is enough? The more one
has...the more he or she wants,
and the vicious cycle goes on
and on and on. People stop living,
in the literal sense of the word.
Family values take a backseat, freedom of living and speech gets mucky,
lack of time syndrome plays havoc as most are busy running after money
and fail to spend the same quality time with family and loved ones. Children
are neglected and so are morals and values. To top it up, human greed
is allowing big compaines to capitalise on this new trend. That's genes,
not consumerism, they say...Really ? Money plays havoc on family life,
socio-economic background, and peer influence.
The media easily targets young impressionable minds. Our culture of "commercialized
everything" has managed to take something as wonderfully simple
as sex and love and turn it into a money-making monster. The reality
is that, the younger the client, the more money there is to be made.
Human greed at its finest. Is this unhappy state of human suffering at
the hands of the money seekers really unavoidable or is it a deliberately-contrived
fraud?
Most writers today write for emotion and self proclaimation. Funny isn't
it, that in this "information age" we aren't getting the honest
information we need? Needless to say, we are being forced to believe
that lies are lies as seen by the writer. This is something that has
become glaringly obvious after the War on Afghanistan, War on Iraq and
the 9/11 Attack. People have only now started to question the motive
of the concerned people ...if only they would have woken up earlier...they
could have probably saved a million innocent lives.
If something makes money, it is good. If not, it is bad. Life is very simple
that way-and financially rewarding, far more than an honest job, that produces
something for the very society we are a part of. The RICH, having crafted a society
that replaces God with money, they think of themselves as the rightful masters
of the universe, no matter how debased that universe will become under their
sterile control or how limited and distorted their knowledge (if any) of history
may be. But they have missed out the crux of the matter....Human Values.
Thanks to the press and advertising, the life-denying values-often called "democratic
values"-are in vogue. Cultural communism-which is called political correctness-dominates
all media. In todays world, morals and speech are sewage, history as fact is
viciously attacked by the media, entertainment is ethical syphilis. One must
be blind not to see the direction. Where can it end? Wake up and smell the roses....viewing
the world with rosed tinted glasses won't get us anywhere. We
all are aware yet blind and oblivious to the happenings around us. Don't you
think it makes sense to make the concerned people ANSWERABLE. Its amazing why
for so long and for how long more, will people sit and be genius in standing
still! Jumping from a cliff brings a light-hearted feeling and the descent is
most enjoyable until the inevitable sudden stop. Reality is not fitted with a
bungee rope.
Sadly, in these shocking state of world affairs, most of us have just shut
themselves off and taken in stride the supposed doctrine that perhaps it IS too
late... The idea to pen this essay down is to group new adherents around the
globe who feel similarily cheated, and want to make a change.
