My
aim is to get the readers thinking. Have we been so lulled into
a false state of oblivion that we fail to notice the gross atrocities
being carried out around us everyday, in the name of money?

Who
is answerable? Or have we become
so mentally and physically corrupt
to shirk our very responsibilities
as educated citizens. What is
our moral obligation and responsibilty
as parents? Is is only to conceive
and produce offspring and bend
to their every whim in the guise
of love? Or, are we also responsible
to make them well grounded, socially
responsible human beings? That
is the question.
Now's
the era of blatant pornography,
alternative music, pseudo society
and open vulgar display of sexuality;
Revealeth all is the motto. Infact,
so much of today's emotions are
entirely against the rules of
the good old days. "When
skirts touched the ground, the
toe of the protruding shoe was
an allurement." There was
no frankness, no seen reality,
only imagination. We were powder
magazines of repression and the
smallest hint was a spark. But
nowadays, all cards are on the
table; nothing left to fancy!
Hypocrisy, besides being the
tribute nice pays to virtue,
is also one of the artifices
by which vice renders itself
more interesting.
We
spend half our days sitting in
our cars ordering junk food,
processing money, using credit
cards, or picking up medicine,
because, in some way or another,
walking has become everybody’s
latest hassle and time (or lack
thereof) seems to haunt us in
our sleep. We have become a
society that is so rushed and
so pushed
to “be faster, be better, be
quicker!” that things such as
love seem to have no place in
our lives. “Kids and even adults
don’t have long attention spans
anymore.
What
exactly is happening? Nothing,
simply nothing seems to be going
right anymore. Nothing makes
sense. At times, I am compelled
to believe that THE MATRIX was
not just a beautiful story, but
reality...that was about to be
put up by the alternative press,
but, forced by the people in
power corridors, made into a
movie...! As the days pass, fading
placidly into and out of the
nights, I feel myself possessed
by the fear concerning "this
time of moral crisis". To
me, it seems as it is only an
illusion,that today was really
not today any more than tomorrow
or yesterday that I am locked
into one moment that never moved,
but remained static beneath the
soaring sun. Now was forever. Continuing
into nothingness, in an agony
of presentiment. All around,
is the same gnawing abyss. A
chasm that seems to reach the
fathomless bowels of the earth.
Me and myself, alone. I wish
I could get a moveon and find
reality in my dreams.
The question is, am I dreaming? Or being made to dream? This can't be
happening... The world is slowly becomming, a more difficult place to
survive. Shockingly, In India today, 30% of the population is living
below the poverty line. 35% is barely making a quiet living on the poverty
line. 30% of Indian population is in the Middle Class and High Middle
Class line. And only 5% of the population comes in the Elite Class. I
am sure, same is the case all over the world. The funny part is, on the
other hand, globally we find rise in literacy, life expectancy, talk
about environment concerns, morality & value system and anti terrorism.
It is such a sham. Who gives authority or permission to one nation to
wage war against the other? Knowing that the world is on the brink of
Terriorism and World War Three, we continue to hold conferences and summits
on global peace. Yet at the same time, how come, the production of arms
and bombs increases? and so does a nations defence budget? Are we actually
in the age of S**** thy neighbour? We are human beings...hello! Everything
simply boils down to greed and money? Where did we go wrong? I know I
am only 35 and have a lot to understand about the world in depth but
my inquisitive mind simply can't comprehend as to why doesnt someone
stand up and say ENOUGH. For crying out aloud, we humans have allowed
even the concept of God to become a commodity...its pathetic.

Slowly the whole dammed world
is getting more and more unpredictable.
There is a meaningless turmoil,
a mad rush over nothing. Iit seems
as if everybody is lost, yet very
hopeful. They want everything going
right for them. However, right
action cannot be extracted out
of nothing; it must be precided
by thought. Thought, which is not
ment to lead to action, has been
called abortion; action which is
not based on thought, is chaos
and confusion. This awakening in
today's world is long overdue!
It is worthwhile therefore, to
clear ones mind, of all the tangled
webs that may have grown there,
to forget for the moment, the immediate
problems before us, the difficult
knots we have to unravel, the day
to day worries, and go back to
the basic facts and principles
what EXACTILY do we want; and WHY
do we want it ?
Wars over boundaries, customs, natural resources and water systems are
alarmingly eminent, and are making the planet more and more shallow as
each day passes. Scandals of various types, at the highest level, and
of hypocritical cover-ups, there seems to be no end. It's high time,
economic instability, political dissatisfaction, and international distrust
awakens the people from slumber and makes them realise the dangers before
them, for it's still not too late. It is therefore obvious that, unless
there is a radical transformation with a magic wand, as it were, the
state of affairs of stagnation will continue. Deep is the gloom that
encircles the world, and the afflictive ordeals are still in progress,
nor can their blackness be as yet imagined.
Today, problems are enhancing every community, every nation on the face
of this planet, whether it is Africa, Ethopia, India, Bosnia, America,
the Gaza Strip, Iraq or Russia. World order is a distant dream. We are
definitely going through the most violent, destructive and indeed catastrophic
period ever experienced by mankind. Now, for the first time in history,
it is possible for everyone to view the entire planet, with all it's
myriad, diversified people, in one prospective. World peace is not only
possible but inevitable. As the need for peace
becomes more urgent, this fundamental contradiction which hinders its
realisation, demands a reassessment of
the assumptions upon which the commonly held view of mankind's historical
predicament is based.
NO ONE IS BEATEN TILL HE QUITS
NO ON IS THROUGH TILL HE STOPS
NO MATTER HOW HARD FAILURE HITS
NO MATTER HOW OFTEN YOU FALL
NO ONE IS DOWN TILL HE LIES
IN THE DIRT AND REFUSES TO RISE.
Dispassionately examined, the evidence reveals that such conduct, far
from expressing man's true self, represents a distortion of the human
spirit. Global decay in Morality and Value system. Flaws in the prevailing
order are conspicuous in the inability of nations to exorcize the spectre
of war, the threatened collapse of the international order, the spread
of anarchy and terrorism, and the intense suffering which these and other
afflictions are causing to the ever increasing millions! These stunning
yet terrifying ordeals must be reconciled with alternative trends of
peace, otherwise, as things stand "So long Humanity!" World
order can be founded only on an unshakeable consciousness of the oneness
of mankind, a spiritual truth which all the human sciences confirm.
Recognition of this truth requires abandonment of prejudice of every
kind, race, colour, creed, religion
and sex. However, somehow, the holding of this mighty convocation is
long overdue !
We can all love, we can all hate ! We can all possess; we can all pity
ourselves; we can be selfish, we can be unselfish; so can we condemn.
But, below these things, there is something else : There is a deep, strange,
unaccountable response within us, to the mystery of life and death; and
this response subsists below grief and pain and misery and disappointment,
below all care and all futility. And the startling thing about this response
is that it is independent of love, of pleasure and hope, and can continue,
as long as we remain true to ourselves, inspite of our frustrations,
and all reasons. This infact is the art of happiness !
People
have to wake up and wake up quick!
The time has come to celebrate
the power of man's mind, defending
reason and science against every
form of irrationalism. This will
provide an intellectual foundation
for objective standards of truth
and value.

What
is life ? I keep on musing, as
if to kill that moment and postpone
the problem of the next. I keep
wondering why I wonder this sense
of dread without reason. I often
believe that people, in general,
who are LIVING, but
without a concept of LIFE. They
feel Protected, Happy, and Destined
by Faith. Do they really, I wonder...I
have this inexplicable wish that
these people were not left in the
open, unprotected against the empty
space above, that they claim God
owns. Heard the song, "what
if God was one of us ?"
Global
problems all around. Poverty,
Dispair, Depravity. As if all
the world is a chess board and
the people are the pieces. Some
game indeed. Some chance we have...People
are dying, leaving loved ones
to mourn, hunger is everywhere,
so is cruelty, anger and hostility.
Young ones are dying, for no
fault of theirs. A lot are being
born into a world that is morally,
spiritually and completely dead.
What the hell is a person supposed
to think or do anymore...? Life
is scattered all around us, with
no melody, no harmony, no rhythm
to bind them together. This certainly
is an age of moral crisis. We
all agree to this, half in fear,
half in hope that the world simply
has no meaning. The intellect
all around the globe are crying
that man's sins are destroying
himself. The believers in a golden
age are crying Rapture and keep
the Faith, while fools in paradise
like myself are AMAZED. Imagine,
people are going nuts, there
is no end to wants. No end to
murky values and lofty un-atainable
self gratifying desires. People
are sacrificing justice for mercy,
independence for unity, reason
for faith, wealth for need, selfesteem
for self-gratification, on and
on...
We are certainly a confused race. First, we practically spend our whole
lives to contribute towards Poverty, Global warming, cutting down trees,
Pollution, you name it, then we suddenly wake up and start propaganda
to eradicate the foolishness of our forefathers! Obviously not ours!
For centuries, the battle of morality was fought between those who claimed
that your life belongs to God, and those who claimed that it belongs
to your neighbours; between those who preached that the good is self-sacrifice
for the sake of ghosts in heaven, and those who preached that the good
is self-sacrifice for the sake of incompetents on earth. We people are
AMAZING. Give me a break.
The
people are being punished for their
evil. But ultimately, it is not
man who is now on trial, and it
is not human nature that will take
the blame. It is the moral code
that will get punished. The world
has reached the climax of morality.
End of the blind alley... the peak
of human achievement, scientific,
biological and chemical. For crying
out loud, the world is now creating
life! GENES is a new kid on the
block. Everybody is messing around
around with it. Call it test tube
babies, or warfare experiments.
Call it whatever excuse, but they
out there... the living, are creating
life ! WOW.
I still can't understand or comprehend, who gives sanction and justification
to acts of human stupidity, in the name of development and morality?
One can understand the Watergate scandal and the removal of Nixon. However,
what transpired in the case of impeachment of President Clinton? He was
made answerable to the public for what he did in his private life? How
did it become public business? "Judge not...lest ye be judged." We
are all human. We all have our skeletons in the closet. We all live double
standard lives, one for ourselves and one for the world. We all have
our secret kinks. Yet, embarrasment equalled impeachment? And who will
apologise now? Why does one have to prove themselves when others are
destroying everything that is so uniquely human about us?
Leaders are remembered by what they are perceived as. Bill Clinton's
feat of eliminating a deficit budget will always be overshadowed by his
cigars and Monica Lewinski features. Talk about the Iraq War, before
and after the event. It's disgusting. It should never have happened or
allowed to take place. Bush will be remembered as the President who drove
America to War. Was it Saddam or the Oil fields? Why is the heart of
India being destroyed through genocide, communalism and red tapism? A
supplicant press and a fawning bereaucracy? Who allows and sanctions
what is happening in Russia? The sad and unnecessary killings of innocent
lives... Have we been so sucked into this cauldron of hatred and inhumanity?
Who makes these moral decisions against fellow human beings? And to believe
that the media has a field day by hyping up the story and creating accountability?
Not for the public good...but to sell news! To make news interesting
reading. In this world, we have sadly made cynicism an art. We wait with
bated breath for people to fail, not to succeed. If anybody is listening
in space, perhaps in Andromeda, hear this...."We humans can be really
pathetic sometimes."
Then there are marvelous additions to the wonders of human achievement
like computer spying, hacking, bio-warfare, privacy-tapping, government
viruses, internet2, area51, gene-olympics 2008, drugs, terrorism, environmental
bunglings, scandals, cloning, regulated press and mind control. To coin
the phrase, "sex, drugs and videotapes"! Way to go humans...!
I am the
man who loves life. I am a person who is not satisfied with the facts,
and faith's around the world. There has to be a more rational explaination
than this. I am not trying to address a meeting, but am trying to address
a "MIND". This is because, people with "MINDS" listen
and rationalize, and do not rave about Faith and values. People, listen
up...and listen good. There is another world out there. Another set of
options. Another concept of life. Another concept of morality and values.
