A well made site. Regarding the wall papers i can say that we should create wallpapers that reflects the true picture of Himachal Pradesh. By clicking the famous pic of shimla, kullu or manali. All over a great site and has a lot of room for further improvement.

Is Bhakra Bam in Himachal Pradesh or in Punjab? Respected Sir In a quiz competition a question was asked Where is the Bhakra Nangal dam located?I answered that this dam is located in Himachal pradesh which was declared wrong.I argued that the prestigious dam was in Himachal and that Nanagal was in Punjab and that a small dam in Nangal utilises water from the Bhakra dam for power generation.Books were consulted and so were geograpy teachers from nearby schools and unfortunately all said that the Bhakra Nangal dam is in Punjab.I would request you to please advise the concerned department to inform me for a the exact location of the dam and why it is called Bhakra Nangal daminstead of Bhakra dam.I feel that your government needs to conduct a drive to inform people that the prestegious Bhakra dam is in Himachal and not in Punjab. Sir, I am very sorry to bother you with such trifle questions but I feel that students as well as teachers all over the country should be aware of the facts.

Him Vikas:
BHAKRA DAM: Situated at Bhakra village of Bilaspur (Himachal Pradesh), about 13 km upstream from Nangal township, it is one of the highest straight gravity dams in the world. The lake is about 90 km long covering an area of about 168 sq km of which 90 percent is in Bilaspur (Himachal Pradesh) and 10 percent in Una district (Himachal Pradesh). The dam was dedicated to nation by late Pt. Jwahar Lal Nehru on November 20th, 1963. The view of vast dam and green jungles around is fascinating indeed.

Dear Friends
There an interesting website which i found out on the net today. It has some interesting writeup from Himachal. Also the design in good. Please go and check it out. http://www.himvikas.org It is run by an NGO called Academy of Hill Development Sciences. They seem have a similar objective such as ours . So i thought it would be of interest to some members to collaborate with them as well , as they seem to be active in HP. Cheers.

Just came across your wonderful website; great work. I am writing to you from an Palampur NGO called RTDC whose work focuses on Natural Resource based enterprises and democratic decentralisation of governance. This is for your information that a workshop on ecotourism is to be held at Corbett National Park from the 9th of Jan till the 12th(see attachment). This workshop may give us useful insights into this 'sunrise sector' and a chance to interact with the policy makers and practitioners at the same time.

Heal the world...Excellent article. I totally agree with the author that these children need love and affection and not our alms and pity. It is nice to know what people like usha ram are working for the betterment of these children. Do pass on our families best wishes to her. We would like to help out. Please let us know how we can.

Congrats. Was searching the net for sites that are concerned with THE environment and saw yours. Not bad. Though takes a long time to load. Here are some bytes for biting...

" when the last tree has been cut down
when the last crop has been harvested
and when the last animal has been hunted
then and only then will man realize that he cannot eat money."

Doesnt it feel good to know that you are being ruled by a peice of paper with blue ink and false promises to pay... on it??

Indian media needs to wake up. Its Sad...
I'm not really a good writer so, not all of the following might make sense. I first came to this conclusion just few days ago when I was watching the news and noticed that September 11th wasn't mentioned once. Nor is Afganistan or the terrible war in Iraq. This got me thinking and realized that nobody is talking about this anymore just because the media has lost interest. Now suddenly the latest MMS cellphone scandal comes up and PHEW the media wakes up. Its pathetic. The policy should have been 'no comment'. All this is media hype, what else? The media is not bothered about the victims, their families....the impact of the SCANDAL BREAK on the poor girl involved...this is not a way to sell news? What happened in Delhi Public School, should not have got front page news features...please. What is the excitement all about anyways? We as parents, first give our children cellphones and latest gizmos, then blame school authorities and modernization...? Is our media in such an all time low that such incidents deserve front page reporting? Is the PRESS giving news or creating news hype? Its sad....

Thought i'd use your feedback form and contribute some abstract ramblings of mine. Stress and drugs are killing our world. The mind is man's last conquered frontier. It is fast, fickle and uncontrollable. STRESS is the price we are paying for failing to learn about the MIND before embarking on the race for the new millenium. Big emotions, lust, anger, obsession, greed and jealousy flood our body with the toxic chemicals of stress. Drugs are freely available and spoiling this generation. No solace at home either...In the age of 24hr access, where the mobile phone is as intimate as the heartbeat and the computer your best friend... stress is the killer : Burnout, chronic disabling, illness, crippling tensions in family life, and lack of fulfillment. Is it too late already? Ah well...
